Great Hideaway

A small site in a lovely peaceful location. Cabin was excellent. Very spacious and of good quality. Clean. I booked a dog-friendly cabin without a hot tub.

Check-in/arrival was hassle-free and the site was very peaceful. There was a great welcome/information pack in the cabin. This lacked walking maps though but reception was very helpful and provided this information when requested.

The kitchen is well equipped but lacked a lid on the bin which smelt. There was also no spare storage cupboard for food items. Otherwise excellent though. I would recommend the addition of coat and towel hooks in the hall and kitchen, and more crockery. The knives also needed sharpening.

The bedrooms were comfortable with enough storage. The bathroom was spacious and good. I wasn’t sure if towels were included, but they were. The heated towel rails and mirrors were very useful.
We spent a lot of time on the balcony with bbqs. The cabin wasn’t as private as hoped due to the newly-planted tree dividers. There was a wasps nest in the tree adjacent to our cabin which proved to be a nuisance on the balcony and in the cabin.

The cabin was lovely and warm. The log burner lovely for the evening. The DVD player and jigsaws and board games were also very useful. Also, docking station.

We went for a weekend which was lovely but I don’t think there are enough walks to spend any longer there. I loved the stay but I would choose a different location next time. I would recommend Hoseasons cabins.

Luxury Relaxation

Better than expected, beautifully decorated, luxurious features and quality fittings.

We enjoyed the chocolates on arrival and every minute we were there! Molton brown toiletries were a lovely touch! Shame we didn’t have a hot tub but exploring the woodland was lovely, didn’t realise this place existed locally, definitely a hideaway.

Would highly recommend for the quiet life, only negatives I can think of was we had no telephone signal, but that was also nice, we also hoped to take children swimming but was mistaken as they have to be over 18 to use thoresby hall facilities.

We booked in a last minute rush and looked at the photos and they led us to believe we were getting a hot tub, only VIP lodges have them.

We ordered a Chinese from the brochure in lodge and it was delivered to the door and very nice!

Nearby village is ideal for shopping etc..

This was a lovely break and would love to return soon!
