We are reviewing the latest Government advice on a daily basis and how this may affect your holiday with us. This page will be updated as and when any additional news is made available.
We are now fully open. We offer a social distancing check-in and due to increased cleaning procedures check-in is 4pm on the day of arrival and 10am departure.
We offer a full range of options to cancel/change your booking if affected by coronavirus. See here.
Following the Government’s announcement on 22nd February setting out the roadmap for England easing lockdown, it is great news that we will be permitted to re-open The Sherwood Hideaway to our Holiday Home Owners as well as welcoming Holidaymakers from the 12th April 2021.
We are now working towards this date subject to any changes from government. Holidaymakers are permitted to stay from this date with no household mixing until the 17th May at the earliest (though may be subject to change dependent on government announcements).
Owners we will be contacting you in the normal way to update you.
If you have a holiday booking with us that is due to arrive prior to the 12th April, we will be in touch directly, contacting you in booking date arrival order, please do not call us at this stage.
Thank you for your patience and we are very excited to hopefully be seeing you soon and welcoming you all to The Sherwood Hideaway.

Change of dates are all subject to availability and the alternative date can be taken in either the 2021 or 2022 season, for the same number of nights. Following the Prime Ministers update last night you will be aware of changes to the guidance surrounding Covid-19 which will impact plans you may have for the festive period.
Christmas Bubbles are no longer permitted and a Tier 4 has been introduced into the existing Tier system which is now in place in some areas of the UK. You can search by postcode to find out how this affects your area here: https://www.gov.uk/find-coronavirus-local-restrictions
With this in mind, here at Sherwood Hideawaywe remain in Tier 3 and as such will remain closed to both holiday guests and holiday home owners during this time.
We are subject to following the Government guidance at all times, which as we have seen in the last 24 hours, is liable to change. It is important we all take responsibility for understanding how this latest guidance affects as individuals and keep up to date with the latest advice which is in play at any given time. As soon as anything changes for us at the park, we will be sure to let you know.
Again, we thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Further to the latest government guidelines we sadly still remain in tier 3 and as such are unable to accommodate any bookings out of the dates 23rd – 27th December. We are able to accommodate bookings during these dates as part of a ‘Christmas Bubble’ directed by the government.
If you have booked a 7 night break with us over Christmas we will be contacting in the next few days to organise your stay with us.
If you have a booking out of the Christmas bubble dates (23- 27 Dec)and up until 3rd January we will be contacting you to give you the options on altering your dates or providing a refund. Please be patient with us as we go through each of the bookings.
For clarification: The Christmas bubble provides an exemption to all other travel rules which allows individuals and households to travel into and out of Tier 3 for arrival on 23 December when the Christmas period begins. “Christmas period” means the period beginning 23 December and 27 December when people can meet their Christmas bubble.
It is only in England where Christmas bubble groups may stay in accommodation including caravans on holiday parks and campsites between 23 and 27 December.
We hope that you are continuing to keep safe and thank you for your patience.
We hope to see you back with us very soon.
The Hideaway Team
Following the latest government guidelines regarding the England lockdown and tier structure we are sad to announce that Sherwood has been placed into the tier 3 category as like before the lockdown.
This unfortunately means that for the time being our doors remain closed to Owners and holidaymakers.
The government are looking to review this in 2 weeks’ time whereby we again will seek to update you on any next actions. At this time we are unable to accommodate any holidays between now and 16thDecember.

In the meantime, we hope you are keeping safe and well, all the team at the Sherwood Hideaway.
Further to the government announcement at the weekend regarding another national lockdown starting from Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December 2020, anyone who has a holiday booked at the Hideaway during these dates will sadly be affected.
We realise how much guests will have been looking forward to their break, especially after such a difficult year thus far, please see below information for you regarding your stay.

**Refunds may take up to 28 days to process
We are hopeful that bookings from the 2nd December onwards will be unaffected, so we are only amending holiday bookings impacted by lockdown at this time. If the situation changes, we will be in touch.
If you have a balance payment due for a future holiday, please continue to pay your balance as normal, you will be covered by our ‘book with confidence’ if the situation does change due to further lockdown measures.
If your holiday was booked through Hoseasons, you will need to contact them directly to discuss your booking, unfortunately we are not able to discuss or make any changes to these holidays as they were not booked directly with us.

The government has placed our area as High Alert, though you are still able to come and holiday with us as long as:
The Government have announced today that gatherings of more than 6 people is to banned in England from Monday 14th September 2020.

Local authorities may also have put in place local restrictions and guidance if Coronavirus outbreaks are high. You can find out more information on the Government website.
We have successfully achieved the ‘we’re good to go’ industry standard and consumer mark in partnership with the tourist organisations of great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The mark shows we have implemented the Government’s COVID-19 reopening guidance, we understand the guidance from Public Health England and have a COVID-19 Risk Assessment in place along with a checklist of measures put in place.
We hope this will provide further reassurance to our local community, owners and holidaymakers that we have implemented clear processes to continue in providing a safe environment on park.
Following the latest Government update we are so very happy to announce The Sherwood Hideaway will be reopening to holidaymakers on the 6th July 2020.
We are really excited that we have the go-ahead to reopen and are looking forward to welcoming you to your hideaway very soon.
Full details about reopening and the safety measures we are putting in place can be found on here.
Although we are still waiting for final confirmation of dates for when we can reopen our park from the Government, our confidence is growing that it will be fairly soon. Although this is still all subject to change, we are trying to make a plan which we wanted to share with you.
At the moment we expect the Government to allow holiday parks in England to reopen on the 4th July and as such are busy behind the scenes placing protocols to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
If you have a holiday booked with us from the 6th July onwards and have a balance payment due, please do not worry about that at the moment, the team will contact you when the reopening dates have been completely confirmed.
If you would like to make a new holiday we are now taking new bookings with an arrival date from the 6th July onwards.
The date for our planned reopening is still dependent on what the Government decides, but we will of course update you when we have further information.
If you would like to speak to one of our team, we are available on the phones, live chat or email. We still have a reduced team working so please bear with us if you struggle to get through. If you email, we will come back to you as quickly as we can.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the hideaway for your holiday, fingers crossed it will be very soon!
We still await final confirmation from the Government as to when we can re-open the park, though in the stages shared so far it is looking as though this could be early July. We await to hear further.
However at this time we have been permitted to open our sales office, with strict procedures in place. So if you’re thinking of purchasing your very own holiday lodge, although due to the park closure we will be unable to show you around the park or a tour of the wonderful Cezanne lodge, we are able to answer any queries you may have. Please do get in touch 10am – 4pm info@sherwoodhideaway.co.uk We are busy developing 5 additional plots. NOTE: Please do not seek to arrive at the park for a show round, this will not be possible.
If you’re looking to book a holiday with us, we are taking bookings with an arrival date from 6th July and placing a variety of parameters in place to ensure a safe, social distancing environment with even further enhanced cleaning procedures and practices. If the government seek to delay the re-opening of the park and your holiday date is within those dates, please do not worry, we will offer a change of date free of charge, a credit or a refund. Be sure to book the dates you want soon.
We understand it is a questionable time currently, though please know, our team are working hard to ensure that when we get the go ahead we will be ready to welcome you to a safe and secluded hideaway for what will undoubtedly be a well-deserved break!
We look forward to providing you with a further update very soon, take care, stay safe.

The team will contact people in order of their arrival date but everyone with a booking prior to July will be contacted in person. If you have a balance payment due for a future holiday, you do not need to pay the balance at this time. Don’t worry about the usual rules for payment as your holiday booking won’t be affected by non-payment of balances at this time. We will be in touch about payment when the time is right and things are clearer.
Because we need to prioritise June arrivals at the moment, it may take up to 20 days to respond to any emails regarding later bookings.
If your holiday was booked through Hoseasons or Booking.com you will need to contact them directly to discuss your booking, unfortunately we are not able to discuss or make any changes to these holidays as they were not booked directly with us.
We understand this is a difficult time for everyone, but our team are working as hard as they can to contact you as quickly as possible so please bear with us and be kind to them when they call.
We miss all our owners and holiday makers but it’s so important that we all stay home, protect each other and protect the NHS. We will be here to welcome you back to our Sherwood and promise you a holiday to remember when we do.
On following the government guidelines and advice and wishing to keep our guests and team safe we will be unable to open our doors as first hoped for bookings between 16th – 31st May.
As such we are making contact with any guest with a booking between these dates, please bear with us.
We understand that if you have a holiday booked with us in June, you may also have questions about what happens next.
The Government are expected to make a further announcement around the 7th May about the current social distancing restrictions. Once they have done, we should have a better idea of what this means for your June holiday booking.
We completely understand this may be frustrating but hope you understand that until we have the vital update from the Government, we are unable to provide any definite answers about your holiday.
If you’re concerned that your balance payment is due, please don’t worry. You don’t need to make any further payments to us at the moment and this will not affect your booking. We’ll post an update here on the website and our social media channels as soon as the Government have given their update and we have more information on next steps for you.

Alan & the team at the Hideaway
We are sorry but following the Prime Minister’s statement last night our parks are now closed until further notice.
If you have a holiday booked with us which starts between now and the 15th of May, we will be in touch as soon as we can, but it may take a while as we are working in order or arrival date, so please don’t call or email us at this time. You will be given the option to either move your holiday date or to have a credit on your account for a future booking with us.
These are alarming times for us all and we are so sorry to be issuing this update. Regrettably we have no choice.
Please listen to the Government advice, stay home and stay safe.
Alan & all the team
We’re sorry
Following the Government advice on Friday, we took the decision to close all of our facilities with immediate effect. We have now had time to consider that advice in full and in view of the current situation we have taken the difficult decision to stop taking any future holiday bookings for dates between now and the 15th of May.
We will also be rearranging all current holiday bookings due for arrival for those dates
We are however, taking bookings for arrival from 16th May.
We realise that this is an uncertain and unsettling time for everyone and for those affected, we know you will be disappointed you can’t take your holiday at the moment. However, we are taking the Governments advice about non-essential travel, social distancing and isolation very seriously and to ensure the safety of our holidaymakers, owners and team, we feel we have no choice but to suspend bookings and holidays for a period of time.
So that we can manage this as efficiently and quickly as possible we are not accepting any incoming calls. We will contact all booked holiday makers in order of arrival dates to help you move your holiday dates or give you a credit note for a future booking. It might take a while to get to everyone but rest assured, we will be in touch as quickly as we can.
We have been genuinely touched by all the kind messages of support and care from our owners and holiday makers during last week and thank you for your continuing patience and understanding. This is a difficult time for all of us, including our teams who are working around the clock to try and help people, so please be kind when talking to them.
We wish you and your family all the very best and hope to welcome you to the hideaway in the not too distant future. Stay Safe!
Alan & all the team.
Following on from our recent updates we kindly ask that if your booking is between now and the 28th March, please wait for us to contact you rather than calling or emailing us. Our team is busy prioritising the holidaymakers with the closet holiday dates first. Please continue to bear with us as we will be in touch soon.
For holiday’s booked for arrival after the 28th March we will be in touch as soon as we have assisted those due to arrive in the next few weeks.
We have been genuinely touched by all the kind messages of support and care from our owners and holiday makers during last week and following the announcement yesterday, so we wanted to say a massive thank you. It’s amazing to feel all the love and support from all of you at such a challenging time for everyone. We appreciate your continuing patience and understanding.
We understand that you may be feeling unsettled given the rapidly changing situation around Coronavirus.
Due to increased demand, our park phone lines, customer services team and social media channels are very busy and we appreciate your patience while we respond to messages. To save guests waiting so long, we are requesting that guests wishing to talk to us, kindly only contact us if your holiday is within the next 7 days. This will allow us to deal with guests with imminent breaks first.
We will be contacting all guests who have a holiday booked between now and the end of April as quickly as we can.
Thank you again for your patience at this difficult time.
Our parks are open for business. At present, our facilities are open and can be used subject to the limitations on numbers and customers observing recommended distancing.
The safety of our guests, owners and team is our number one priority.
We have very strict cleaning procedures in place in all holiday home accommodation and in communal areas and have increased the number of sanitising antibacterial/antiviral dispensers around our parks. Hygiene posters are also on display across the park.
The benefit of our parks is that you have your own holiday home to enjoy during your stay, so it’s possible to separate yourself from other holidaymakers, should you wish. The great news is that you’ll have all your home comforts whilst still being on holiday.
Should you or any member of your party begin to feel unwell with Coronavirus symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing) during our stay, please inform reception immediately by calling the park phone number. Please do not go to reception in person to report your symptoms.
We then suggest that you follow government advice and leave the park straight away in order to return home to self-isolate.
It is important that you do not visit reception or any public area on the park. Please leave your key in your accommodation. Further information about self-isolation can be found here.
We understand that you might be concerned about your holiday. To give you some extra reassurance and to reduce the financial impact to you, for guests due to arrive between now until 30th April 2020, we are offering:
Change your holiday dates for FREE to any 2020 or 2021 date
We advise that you check the Gov.uk website for all the up to date information, particularly if you have recently travelled to or from higher risk countries click here
Changes to the booking made by us:
If anything were to change regarding your holiday we will be in touch. If we can no longer offer the holiday booked or we need to cancel the following will apply:
• Replacement holiday (same as booked)
• Replacement holiday of less value than booked (where we would refund the difference)
• Replacement holiday of a higher value than booked (where you would pay the difference in cost)
• A full refund
The situation regarding Coronavirus is constantly changing, however, if you have any urgent questions about your booking please email CustomerServices@Bridgeleisure.com. We are requesting that guests wishing to contact us to only get in touch if your holiday is due to start with us between now and 30th April 2020. This will allow us to help and support guests who are due to arrive imminently.
