The grade ll listed Thoresby Courtyard is a delightful location to visit. There are craft shops, a glass blowing studio, plus the respected Thoresby Gallery and the estate’s Military Museum.
Thoresby Courtyard is five-minute car journey from our Lodges in the Sherwood Forest and has free entry.
Shopping at Thoresby Courtyard is a fascinating experience with small shops selling handmade jewellery, children’s gifts, art and glassware.
Rest and refresh at the fully licensed Bay Tree Café for delicious light lunches and cream teas in a relaxed atmosphere. The Sherwood Hideaway guests get a 10% discount when showing their lodge key.
Thoresby Gallery has a permanent display of artworks from Marie-Louise Roosevelt Pierrepont, many of which bring to life Thoresby Park during its time as a base for serviceman during the Second World War. There are also frequent displays of works from local artists.
Thoresby’s new Military Museum provides an enjoyable insight into the proud history of the Queen’s Royal Lancers and Nottinghamshire Yeomanry regiments, nicknamed the Death or Glory Boys.
